My car is still under warranty. Will this be maintained if I use AutoGuru?

Yes! Our services are warranty approved and our mechanic is fully licensed. Canadian manufacturers are not permitted to restrict the company you choose to service your vehicle. To be sure warranty is maintained, the manufacturer maintenance schedule must be adhered to (we can help you determine your individual needs!) and services must be documented. Your service invoice will be emailed to you for easy record keeping.

Is the work completed on my vehicle insured?

Absolutely. AutoGuru has a comprehensive insurance policy, including general liability as well as coverage for your vehicle and property.

Does your work come with a warranty?

We do our best to treat our customers and their vehicles with the utmost care. Though we pride ourselves on getting it right the first time, we provide peace of mind with a 12 month / 20,000 km warranty. If something goes wrong with your car as a direct result of our services within the warranty period, we’ll fix it without further cost to you.

I know what repairs I would like done on my vehicle. Do I need to have an inspection done before-hand?

We highly recommend booking a consultation first. This way, we can be sure you are getting the most appropriate care for your vehicle. We won’t recommend unnecessary work and can sometimes even save you money by recommending a service rather than a repair. If you book the service with us after your consultation, the fee will be partially deducted from your final bill. If you choose not to book a pre-repair consultation we will happily come and complete the repair. However, any parts not needed will be subject to a 20% re-stocking fee and we can’t guarantee that our work will correct your vehicle issue.

What if additional work is required on my vehicle?

If additional work is discovered while servicing your vehicle we will let you know. We’ll provide you with further information – what the problem is, how it will affect your vehicle, and the severity of the problem; as well as the cost of repair. We’ll only proceed with your approval. We aim to be as transparent as possible and don’t want our customers to have any surprises on their bills!

What if I need to cancel my appointment?

You can cancel or reschedule an appointment by emailing us at Andrew@theautoguru.ca. Scheduled appointments canceled within 24 hours of the appointment time are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.

What types of parts do you use?

We only use high quality parts that meet or exceed Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) specifications. We source most of our parts from Napa Auto Parts or the original manufacturer.

Can I supply my own parts?

Yes. Please let us know at the time of booking so we can provide a labour only quote for your repair. Note that you will be billed for any lost time due to incorrect parts. Unfortunately, our service warranty does not apply for customer supplied parts.

Are there any travel fees for you to come to my location?

There are no travel premiums for all service calls over $50! For small services under this threshold, a $15 travel fee is applicable.

How do you determine the price?

You’ll find our diagnostic and service packages competitive when compared to other shops in the area. For repairs, you’ll typically notice a savings when compared to traditional shops. We pride ourselves on having transparent fees with no hidden costs or surprises on your bill. You will be provided with an all inclusive quote for your services up front, including either a package price or a breakdown of costs for labour and parts; as well as HST. We bill our labour at a rate of $92/hr based on the industry standard flat-rate system, which will remain the same if the job takes more or less time to complete.

Is your mechanic licensed and experienced?

Yes! As a fully licensed, Red Seal Automotive Service Technician, Andrew Macaulay, our mechanic and co-owner has over 15 years of industry experience and is continually improving his skill set through courses and workshops. You can verify his credentials at The Ontario College of Trades website located  at Ontario College of Trades – Public Register (Please be advised that the College of Trades was only established in 2013 and unfortunately they only show that as the earliest possible date of enrollment for any trades person in Ontario).
